OOTD: One dress and one hand in Morocco

disabled-model-fashion-one-hand-ootd

Last month I was in Morocco for my summer vacation. A beautiful place to shoot some pictures! So here’s the first look with one dress and one hand 😉

I must admit, it wasn’t easy to be comfortable with my missing hand in Morocco. I’m quite used to being stared at, but in Morocco the staring gets to a whole new level. Kids just gawk without any shame, point at my hand and start giggling with their friends. Obviously disability is not a normal thing in Morocco, and certainly not for ‘normal’ people. The disabled people that I did see there were mostly beggars…

But back to my looks! We went to Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech which is an absolutely beautiful place. It was a blast to take some photo’s there…

I’m wearing a maxiskirt from Primark, grey top from Primark, sunglasses from Hema and shoes from Tamaris.

Marit is the person who started Pretty Different. She was born with only one hand and has struggled with the crazy ideal of perfection. Since accepting that she's different, she started seeing the beauty in 'imperfection'.

  1. Absolutely love the outfit! I’m a huge fan of the maxi and this one is no exception. You look fantastic and so relaxed in your photos. Thanks for sharing your vacation with us.

  2. I was in Morocco and experienced the same thing, very acceptable bring a congenital amputee .
Did you visit the little shop in the Marrakesh Souk that was a group of disabled women that sew and embroider ? I brought patterns for them .
    Your outfit is fabulous !
