Photo shoot: model with a handicap

Model with a handicap 2

I’m a model with a handicap ;). Don’t believe me? Just check out these awesome photo’s!

A couple of weeks ago I did a photo shoot with the lovely Tamara from Blik en Bloos Photography. She started a campaign called ’15 days of beauty’. Tamara did the campaign to show that women of all ages, sizes, colors and (dis)abilities can be (and are) beautiful.

It was quite exciting for me because I was determined to get my ‘disability’ on the photo’s. It’s been quite a journey for me to accept my disability and I think this photo shoot shows me (and everyone else) that I’m finally and truly okay with myself.

Tamara kept the photo’s as a surprise, so I’ve just seen them the other day. I was expecting them to be a little weird because I knew all the poses I did and I thought they would be weird with my missing hand…

But the photo’s we’re actually a real surprise! My missing hand didn’t bother me at all. I loved all the photo’s, and they all look so natural to me! I’m very happy with the result and very grateful for Tamara for making them. I guess this makes me a real model with a handicap ;).

Marit is the person who started Pretty Different. She was born with only one hand and has struggled with the crazy ideal of perfection. Since accepting that she's different, she started seeing the beauty in 'imperfection'.

  1. Wat gaaf zeg. Heb het zelfde als haar. En Marit. Ook links. Leuk dat er nu eindelijk meer aandacht voor komt. Op een mooie positieve manier.

    TOP !!!!!
